Gives a final touches to master plan of Zirakpur, Lalru, Derabassi

MOHALI: The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today gave the final touch to the master plans of Zirakpur, Lalru and Derabassi and asked Urban Development, Country and Town Planning departments to work in tandem with GMADA to develop upcoming Zirakpur on Sectoral Grid plan.

Reviewing the development projects, Badal said that no unplanned construction in the Zirakpur area would be allowed and asked Chief Parliamentary Secretary N.K. Sharma to coordinate with all departments to workout modalities for carving out sectors in Zirakpur and develop inter sector roads according to sectoral grid to give a planned look to whole urban area of Zirakpur. He said that Mr. Sharma would also coordinate with all departments to work out a development model for Zirakpur, Lalru and Derabassi and develop synergy in the development of these entire cities.

Focusing on developing Lalru as a Industrial hub of North India Badal asked Chief Parliamentary Secretary Industries to submit the plan for Industrial Focal Point so that proper infrastructure could be provided in upcoming industry in Lalru. He asked Secretary Urban Planning to make necessary changes in regional plan for expediting the completion of Focal Point.

Stressing upon the need for making Zirakpur as model city of modern North India, Badal asked Chief Parliamentary Secretary to submit a plan for up-gradation of road, sewerage, water supply in Zirakpur area besides providing necessary facilities of parks, a sports stadiums and entertainment hub in the Zirakpur.

Underlining the need for developing Mohali as an IT hub, Mullanpur as Education City, Lalru as Industrial Hub, Badal said that we have to ensure coordinated development of this area to generate more than 1 lac jobs for our youth.
